Bartending School FAQs
Q.
Do I have to 21 years old
to go to bartending school?
A. You may bartend in Massachusetts and Rhode Island as long as
you are at least 18 years old.
- Q.
Do I need a high school diploma or GED
to be a bartender?
A. No. No special educational background is needed. Since we teach
with a hands on learning approach, people from all different backgrounds
and learning style do well
at the Professional School of Bartending.
- Q.
Will I use real alcohol?
A. No.
At the Professional School of Bartending, we have filled the actual empty liquor bottles with simulated
alcohol. This way you become familiar with the different bottles
and brands, which increases your efficiency and speed when you
start your new bartending career.
Q. How will I know if the drinks taste right?
A. Flavor profiles of the various spirits are discussed and for
the first part of the program; all drinks are measured to ensure
consistency.
- Q.
If I have to miss a class, can I make it up?
A. Don't worry, flexible schedules can be arranged.
The Professional School of Bartending course
is also designed so that each lesson is unique. Since
we offer classes six days a week and four nights, there is plenty
of opportunity for you to make it up. You won't fall behind if
you miss a class.
-
Q. What will happen if I can't learn it all during the program
I signed up for?
A. The Professional School of Bartending has an open door policy.
Since we specialize in adult education we know that people have
many responsibilities in their lives other than school. We also
understand that people learn at different rates. We respect that.
Therefore you may come and practice and repeat as many bartending classes
as you like at no charge. The more professional and confident
you look the better you represent us.
- Q.
How soon after I graduate can I get a job and will the school
help me?
A. It will depend a lot on your motivation. Some students have
bartending jobs in place before they start the
Professional School of Bartending
program. Others start looking
while still enrolled in the school. You are eligible for our free,
lifetime
bartending job placement assistance in MA (Massachusetts) and RI (Rhode Island)
once you graduate. We cannot
guarantee employment because we are not hiring you, but we do believe
that everyone who wants to work is working.
